iphone, ipad, mac & android
some things are easier to say when they do not have to stay. write what you have been holding in, and watch the words disappear as you go.
nothing saved, synced, sent, or seen.
coming soon. one small purchase. no subscription, no ads, no account.
you do not have to make sense of it.
the angry version. the scared version. the sentence you keep rehearsing but will never send. put it here exactly as it comes. no audience. no reply. no need to turn it into something useful.
as you write, the oldest words cross the line and disappear. burn them. wash them away. let them crumble or drift off as fireflies. there is no note waiting afterward. you are not building a record. you are making room.
the room asks nothing from you.
no prompt. no lesson. no better version of the story required.
say the version you have been holding in.
be messy. repeat yourself. say the unfair thing, the frightened thing, the sentence you are tired of carrying around. there is no one on the other end.
the oldest words go first.
they cross the flame bar and leave at the pace you choose: burn, rain, smoke, fireflies. drag the mark higher for more room, or lower when you need the words gone sooner.
choose the room you need tonight.
some thoughts need the warmth of a bonfire. others need rain, or a field of fireflies, or true black. every mood is a different room: its own paper, its own ink, its own way of letting words arrive and leave. tap an underlined word to change any of it.
the room is empty again.
when the last word is gone, one small count appears, then fades. not a score. not a streak. just a quiet acknowledgment that you said it, and it does not have to follow you.
when the words need more room.
open the same private page full screen on mac and let a real keyboard take over. no document to name. no file to close. just the writing, the line, and the quiet afterward.
what this room keeps.
privacy policy · effective august 1, 2026 · applies to the off my chest. app for iphone, ipad, mac, and android
off my chest. keeps nothing of what you write. your writing is never saved by the app, written to a file, sent to a server, or included in analytics. the app has no account system, no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics, and it does not make network requests to send or process your writing.
what happens to your words.
your writing exists only on the active page while you use it. when words disappear, they are removed from the active text and cannot be recovered through the app; not hidden, not archived, no trash folder, no history, no undo. depending on your room settings, words still on the page may also be cleared when the app leaves the foreground, and the page is covered with a blank screen before the system takes its app-switcher preview. nothing prevents someone with access to your device from taking a screenshot while the app is visible.
what stays on your device.
only your local preferences: the room mood, arrival and departure animations, how and when words disappear, and a few yes/no choices. never a copy of your writing, a writing history, session timestamps, or past word counts. because sousy llc never receives your writing or an account belonging to you, there is nothing remote to retrieve or delete.
keyboards and dictation.
keyboards and dictation are provided by your device or by a keyboard app you have installed. they operate outside off my chest. and follow their own privacy policies. the setting “the keyboard may fix my words” controls whether the app permits autocorrection and suggestions; on android, disabling personalized learning sends the platform’s standard request that keyboards not learn from this text field. the app receives the text a keyboard or dictation service inserts, never the recorded audio. for the most private experience, use your platform’s standard keyboard and avoid third-party keyboards with full access.
third parties.
the app includes no advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting services. no third party receives your writing from the app. the operating-system keyboard, dictation service, and app store are platform services outside the app, governed by their providers’ policies.
changes to this policy.
if the app’s privacy practices ever change, this policy will be updated before the changed practice ships, and the effective date above will be revised.
